RICK HINDERER KNIVES :: USA MADE
FIRETAC SPANTO (new)
The redux Firetac is a slimmer sleek and capable EDC folder that Rick Hinderer developed over a decade ago and is now being released in a full production model. The Firetac is like a more streamline version of the XM-18 3.5".
It has a slimmer blade and handle with the same hearty titanium frame lock construction, now with a hardened steel lock face insert, and high traction G10/Titanium front scale. No flipper on the Firetac means a clean profile in the closed position while the titanium thumb disk makes for fast, ambidextrous deployment when you need it.
Clip can be positioned for tip up or tip down carry (compatible with XM clips and filler tabs)
Hinderer Lock bar Stabilizer (LBS) which prevents over torqueing of the lock bar which can happen under stress.
CRUCIBLE CPMŪ 20CV
Hinderer Knives is using a unique tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy Process. It is a martensitic stainless steel with a high volume of vanadium carbides for exceptionally good wear resistance.
CPM 20CV contains the highest amount of chromium of any high vanadium stainless steel currently available. The chromium rich matrix provides outstanding corrosion resistance.
The CPM process results in a finer, more uniform carbide distribution imparting improved toughness and grind ability to highly alloyed steels.
The CPM process also alloys for the design of more highly alloyed grades which cannot be produced by conventional steelmaking for the knife industry.
