DON HANSON III - Small Steam Mill Hunter
Here's the information on the Steam Mill Hunters by Don:
"The steel used in these knives is from old circular sawmill blades, known for a higher carbon content than newer saw steel, ranging from .80-.85 carbon and 1.5-2% nickel.
After being cut and profiled, the blades undergo thermal cycling for an extremely fine grain structure and are heat-treated to a hardness of 61 RC.
The edges are ground to a near-zero thickness for sharpness, complemented by a hand-rubbed and etched finish.
The handles feature vintage micarta scales secured with brass pins.
The larger model includes a thong hole tube; the smaller one does not."
